Chick with eye problem

Hi everybody! I'm new here with a chick-health problem: 5 day old Silkie bantam chick has eye injury: I believe she may have gotten feed in it --at first it was gooey, now crusted shut. Is there anything I can do that won't make it worse? Warm sterile saline? I'm afraid she's in pain...

I would put antibiotic ophthalmic ointment in the eye once or twice a day. Rinsing i first is a good idea, especially if it's possible there is something (a foreign body) in there. You can also use plain brand name Neosporin ointment in eyes.
