Hello, I have a 1.5 months old male white sultan chick who I've always suspected to have some kind of foot deformity related to his extra toes and slight limp. Today while holding him I noticed that the side of his one foot has a slightly redder, firm-ish flesh mass, where the foot feathers grow out of. When I touch or put pressure on it he does not mind at all, and is just as active and healthy looking as the other chicks, running around and dust bathing.
He's always had a slight limp on that leg even before the swollen flesh, which I assumed was due to his extra toes that grew inwards overlapping his other toes that made his balance more unstable. When he runs around he almost hops a little bit, which is kind of cute.
Here are the pictures identifying the things I mentioned:
The extra toes that curve inward/overlap on one foot, also the foot he has slight balance issues on
The flesh growth from where the foot feather shafts are, and comparison to the foot with no issues
Could it be related to his foot "deformity"? Or possibly swollen due to infected shafts or some kind of abscess?
