Chick with Leg at Weird Angle

Okay sounds good, thank you, definitely don't want to make things worse for him. Thank you for the link. I will do a little more research on supportive care and go from there. Hopefully he can grow up to be like Cleopatra, but time will tell.

Okay...that sounds like a genetic defect. Contact Cackle.

I contacted them; they always make it sound like I did something wrong. (What kind of bedding are you using? It probably caused splayed leg.) Right, at over a month old on pine shavings...
They said they've had no other complaints about the Chanteclers.
So, I guess the lesson is to make sure you always complain so that they will know what's going on.:rolleyes:
Honestly, I didn't expect them to do anything. I'm going to try not ordering from hatcheries when I can.

Now she (Cackle Hatchery) said it's because I didn't give my chicks Apple Cider Vinegar when I first got them.

As you know, ACV is for gut health - it would have nothing to do with this. That's poor customer service as well. (They could have refunded the original purchase price (a few dollars). For 12 years I have worked with Meyer and others, and always keep going back to Meyer because of their customer service and bird quality.)

Exactly. I'm done buying from Cackle. These chicks are still struggling and it's obviously a breeding issue.
