I'm new to Backyard Chickens and to raising chickens. This is the first year as an adult that I've raised baby chicks. I have a Easter Egger Hen that has had a problem with her foot since we received her in the mail. I ordered 26 chicks and she's the only one with the problem. When she was smaller, she just favored the other leg more but got around fine. Now that she's getting heavier, its obvious there is a real problem with that leg. I don't believe it was an injury but I haven't been able to find any information on what we should do to help her now that she's 7 weeks old. She eats, drinks and gets around well for not using the one leg much. When I handle her, she does not seem to be in pain from the leg, it just seems warped and is almost backwards now. I'm just looking for advice on what to expect from her, what might be wrong or a way to help her get around better.

Guessing it got broke/injured in shipping. At this point it probably isn't fixable. If shes not in pain and gets around well it's probably not going to be a hugh problem.

Just keep a eye on her. Good Luck.

Thank you, she gets around ok, we make sure she's close to the water/food and sometimes she'll wait at the coop door for me to pick her up and get her out or put her back in. I've noticed the other hens will move from the dust bath they made and give it to her lately and I've not noticed any bullying of her so far so hopefully she'll be fine. We keep a close watch on her.
