I left my chick to roam while we went out for 2 hours, and when I came back I couldn't find it at first. I found it by faint chirping in tall grass, and saw the neighborhood cat leap over the fence. The chick seemed alright, just not very active. Then I lifted the right wing and found two puncture holes in the side, probably from the cat's teeth. One of the wounds seems fine, and it will likely heal without problem. The other though, emits a small amount of air when the chick peeps, and the skin around it bulges with air every time the chick breathes, only escaping with a gurgling sound when it peeps. Now the chick is under a heat lamp and sleeps standing. Is there any hope that it will survive? And what treatment should I give?
