Chick with paralyzed toes

Sorry this is a terrible picture but it's the best one I could get. I gave the chicks some scrambled eggs for dinner but they weren't interested - just wanted to nap. Maybe my little curly toed one will eat some of the eggs for a midnight snack. I'm also going to get some liquid vitamin as soon as possible... I have some made for reptiles, I wonder if that would work for birds too?

Cuckoo Mama, what kind of cardboard and tape did you use for the shoe? The foot is so very tiny... Do you think the tape would get stuck in her little toe feathers? I'm willing to try anything I can to help this precious little one!

My hen has that but it's fine.

I'm pretty sure it's curled toe paralysis we're looking at here. I'm grateful it only seems to have effected one chick, and only one foot at that.

I have started giving a liquid B vitamin twice a day, and the little one seems to like it! Not sure if I can reverse the toe paralysis, but I'm hopeful, and at least I can try to prevent more damage! Have the whole group of chicks on fortified water and enriched diet, but I'm only administering the liquid vitamin to little curly toes. Wish me luck!!

Things are looking up for my little curly toed chick, who we've named Lucille. Her two biggest toes still curve in toward her body but I've felt her move them, and the foot is growing stronger! Overall she seems much more vibrant and active. I've been giving her b-vitamins twice daily for five days now, and manually straightening her toes and massaging her foot. I'm really pleased by how well she's doing, and hopeful that even if she doesn't gain full use of her toes she'll be able to manage and keep up with the rest of them!
