I picked up a RIR chick from the feed store and it had a sealed vent. I cleaned it off... it was all hard and dried on. I feel a hard lump in her abdomen. Is there anything I can do to help her to eliminate and get better?

I don't have a picture right now, but it looks all fluffy and normal now that I washed it off. She did end up going poop. I felt another chick that hadn't had a sealed vent and I couldn't feel a hard spot in there, so I thought it strange that she did.🤔

They sexed her as a pullet so it doesn't seem like that would be it.

She is probably just backed up due to the pasty butt. She will finish pooping everything out in a little while. Sometimes they get pasty butt a few more times, so just continue to wash any dried poop that's stuck, and she will be just fine.

When they vent sex chicks thay are feeling for a little bump that indicates a male.
Vent sexing involves looking, not feeling.

Any "bump" that indicates gender would be too small to feel, and would be in the vent not the abdomen.

Thank you for the tips. Thankfully, after I cleaned her up the first time she pooped and then all went back to normal. No more pasting!:)
