Chick with Splayed Leg, nothing is helping!!!!

Hi,
I have a 1 1/2 day old Silkie Bantam with a Right splayed leg only. I tried making a hobble splint with a bandaid, medical tape, and pipe cleaner. Unfortunately, the chick cannot even walk at all when I did this. I made sure each time to leave ample space so that the legs have movement. The poor chick just flops on it's belly with it's feet out behind it "tied together". I am a nervous wreck! I don't want to euthanize this chick as it is my only Lavender Silkie in the bunch! What else can I do? Should I wait a little longer and see if it gets better on it's own. The chick does seem improved since yesterday..... Please help me.

One of my Ancona did that but then got up later and moved around. Get some energy in him and I bet he does too.

I have a lame hen who got that way at 2 months or so. Never knew how, but she just hops around and is one of the girls. So I would not put her down. I would leave her with others to observe if they bully her. If not leave her there and do nothing special for her. Best if she adapts to it now while she is light of weight. If others bully her, then do separate her but do nothing for her except to make food and water available. She may well become a lamie like mine, bu have a productive life. Mine lays around 4 eggs a week.

I had a chick before that seemed lame. In a few days though, after a kind of bandage between her legs, she turned out fine. Hope she or maybe he, gets well soon.

Oh, don't forget vitamins and minerals, she might not have enough.

My last attempt at the hobble finally fell off. Some one pecked at her back knee and it was bleeding. I could see the bone. I removed the hobble, put some neosporin on the knee and returned her to the flock. No one seems to be picking on her. Right now I revisited her, it has been about 4 hours. I initially let her rest under Mom. She seems to be doing better on the leg. I do have vitamins and electrolytes in their water. She is eating and socializing. No one seems to be pecking at her and Momma seems to love her. I am so glad to have all of your help. I will keep you posted!
