I have a chick that is keeping it's one leg straight back. Is there anything I can do?

I didn't get answer, but a friend suggested using a Popsicle stick for a splint. It didn't work. She unfortunately died a few days later. Thanks for asking.

Oh I'm sorry. Mine is still hanging in there. Only 10 days old now though.

Another person told me that I could have taped her legs together with a non-sticky tape and she would have gotten both leg to bend that way.

To late for us but maybe you could try it.

I did the bandaid thing for several days. Now I'm giving her some time to see if she can regain strength in it. Might have to go back to the bandaid or some tape or I also saw mention of a bendy straw that I considered trying, but so far, she seems to be working it. She mostly drags it around when she walks, puts some weight on it now, and stretches it out behind her when she lays down. But I have also seen her tuck it under her body when she lays down. I'm still hopeful at this point. Thanks for all suggestions!

I had a bantam with the same problem. She would put her leg under her like your's is and she made it and is walking all over now.

Thank you! Its nice to know that some survive and turn out ok.
Here she is after dragging herself over to the water. She is still eating and drinking well!

Good Luck! I don't think I told you that we would give her leg P. T. two to three times a day. That was a massage and moving leg in and out 5 to 10 times.

Oh thanks. I've been working it as much as I can, but usually only once a day because I'm not home enough. I got some other suggestions from another thread about making a sock sling and kinda strapping it to her body. Going to see what I can come up with this evening to give her some relief
