I posted this under raising baby chicks and someone suggested I might get faster results posting under emergencies so here goes:

I have a little serama chick that will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. The last day or so she has been lagging behind the others. Today she is alright standing but when she starts walking, she goes a few steps then falls onto her breast and just kinda scoots along. Any ideas what's wrong with her?

edited to add new symptom: She hardly stands at all now and as she sits there it's like she has a nervous tick or something. She keeps shaking her head. Does anyone know what I can do to help her? She doesn't seem to be in pain and she's eating and drinking but she does seem very sluggish.

It is probably a calcium deficiency,
Don't worry I had a hen like that I didn't know how it was that she could have a calcium deficiency because she was eating, but when I separated her form the others I realized that her poo was green which means that they were basically starving while eating because they weren't getting enough grit! so I force fed her grit and raw egg with an eye dropper, and she recovered! slowly but she is just like the rest of the flock now!
I have a pdf. file on my computer with a chart for Diagnosing chicken ailments if you send me your email address then I can email it to you

below is my hen that had exactly what your chick has she is 4 months old in the picture she was also 4 weeks old when she got sick.

Good luck I hope your chick gets better!

I have a 8' by 8' pen with a grass bottom that the hen and her chicks are in during the morning and I also usually let them run loose in the afternoon while I'm around (so the cats don't get them). Don't you think they would get enough grit? And how does grit help with a calcium deficiency? There's no calcium in it. I think I'll try feeding her some egg though. Thanks for the help!
edited to add: how long did it take your chick to get better?

You can also give it a bit of Poly-Vi-Sol available in the infant vitamin section of your store. Couple of drops on some food and a couple of drops in the waterer will give it some extra vitamins. Also feed scrambled eggs.
