While I grew up around chickens as a kid, I've never had 1. Been wanting em for years now then as of May 13 I acquired 3 calico princesses from TSC and then may 28th found a local breeder on Craigslist with bearded silkies and got 5 of em. All my chickens were around a week old if not younger and while I love all 8 I'm especially attached, fond, (ok obsessed) with my silkies 
. Every morning when I let my chickens out n replenish food/water, my ritual is the calico princesses pen first and I always greet em with " morning ladies" then once finished and on to the silkies with "wats up my peeps!" Then I hang out n chill with em a bit cause in my head they might b a lil gangsta 
. I have no other pets as every dog I've ever had was bottle fed for 1 reason or other and then died of old age between 16 to 18 human years (gypsy was my blue nose pit. She was my 2nd bottle baby, longest lived n last to pass away 3 yrs ago this coming November) was determined no more dogs as it still hurts too much. But I'm a animal lover and apparently I now accidentally attached to a new species. I have a 3 kids, 16 yr old and twin 6 yr olds. stay home mom married 18 yrs. Now wanting to get back to nature like I was growing up. I'm here cause I'm being drove crazy googling my silkies colors as some I've never seen before or is a mix of 2/3 colors. And am looking for best forum/ thread on here to post pics and ask experienced ppl if they know the colors. I know I have 1 black, 1 blue, and either a splash or paint. The rest is a mystery. So I'll b hunting on here for that, then will be reading past threads on some other chicken related research. Nice to meet y'all, been low key stalking ur posts since May.
