Hi, we have recently started hatching chicks on our own and our second chick we hatched is very strong and can walk carefully but if she falls she struggles and fails to get up. I'm curious to find any tips to help her stand after falling.

Welcome to BYC! :frow

Congrats on your hatchlings!

Using a supplement like Poultry nutri drench (if you're in the US) can be immensely helpful. The hatching egg itself may have been slightly deficient in some nutrients.

How long it takes them to get back up.. is an indicator of chick "quality".. in hatching facilities.

Adorable!

Sometimes, it's merely that they need to "find their feet." Just like children who learn to walk take time and have many spills. With chicks though, it's usually a matter of a day from hatching when they're all just fine and running around. I'd give your babies some vitamin water like Poultry Cell or Nutra-Drench just as a boost to their chick crumbles.

Thank you! She is a great walker though. She's a few days old and when she falls on her back she just needs a little boost to get up.
