Chick yellow oozing eye

I have a one week old Mille Fleur chick with a yellow oozing eye. It was fine lastnight, but today it looks like someone pecked it. Nobody seems to be picking on her now. How should I clean/take care of this to keep it from getting infected?

Vetrex is a antiseptic for poultry it may help

Terramycin eye gel works well for birds of all ages; you can get it at TSC or usually the local feed mill. Dab it around the eye with a sterile qtip; some will seep in. Before you do that wash the eye with plain eye wash for people you get from the drug store. Do this twice a day. If it doesn't improve quickly, you can also treat with water soluble terramycin 4 tsp per gallon.
