when will be to late to get chicks stared so they will be big enough for the indiana winner

Well Eggs take 3 weeks to Hatch and usually by 7 8 weeks are feathered enough to survive cold temps .. A Light in the coop is good to help keep them warm .. so are numbers as they will huddle to keep warm .. and also With out a light Hens wont lay much in the winter . hope this helps . Over all I would say allow 3 months if hatching .. minimum two months if buying chicks.. Of course this is My Opinion ~ Corinne
