So I bought a chickabator last year with the quail eggs and aside from the eggs not hatching I had problems with the humidity in the bator. I mean it just didnt seem humid in there to me. Anyone else have that sort of problem or one at all with the bators? I am thinking about throwing some button eggs in it since I have so many and my hens are all full up under them but I dont want to waste good eggs. What do you guys think?

get yourself a hydrometer and check out the humity, also watch to make sure it stays consistant for several days then put in some eggs.

I havent heard anything good about them myself, I thought since it was so affordable it might be worth it but last year none of the eggs hatched. I dont have a clue where to get a hygrometer without purchasing online. Our local feed store is more focused on horses and livestock than on poultry. I also would like to try to find gamebird starter since I heard that reg. chick starter was bad for them.

You can get a digital hygrometer/thermometer combination thing for like $7 at Wal-Mart they are back in the hardware dept with the outside thermometers. I am told it will make them very sick to give them chick starter b/c it is medicated, but most feed stores carry game bird feed dont know that it needs to be a starter feed. Good luck!
