Hello!
My 2-month-old (about) Color Pack chicken has a big gash in her beak. I’ve been out of town for a few days, so I don’t know if the other chickens were pecking her or if she got cut on something. I assume the former, because their coop’s very safe and big. It isn’t bleeding, but looks a bit oozy (picture attached), and she seems very low-energy. This really surprised me, because this particular chicken is pretty dominant in my flock of four, I don’t see a reason for the others to retaliate, and this has never happened. I haven't administered any treatment to the wound yet. My current plan is to clean it with water and bandage it so it doesn’t get infected. Any thoughts on why this happened, how to prevent it, and, mainly, how to treat her wound?
Thank you!!!
