Chicken about to lay?

Hi! I have bought a chick from my local pet and feed store on July 17th. She was a few days old and now she is 5 months and 3 weeks old. Lately she has been squatting, she has never done this before and I am still new to chickens. I am pretty sure she is about to start laying eggs. She is squatting like this ( not my picture) : Does anybody have any clue when she will start laying if thats the case?

One of my four (31 weeks old this coming Friday) has started this behavior as well. I sincerely hope it's not going to be a "few weeks"! Gave 'em a talking to a couple days ago "There's always the frying pan you know!" Apparently she was listening.

Yep! Squatting means that eggs are coming soon!

Eggs could be on the way , another good way to tell is if you check her pelvic bone if you don't know how to check go on YouTube and watch a video really accurate because I checked my pullets pelvic bone yesterday and it was at 3 fingers and today she laid her first egg

Hi! Do you know if she could lay sooner? I noticed that today in the coop she has been making nest type things in the bedding.

It's another sign that eggs are on the way, my pullet squatted just like your photo.
