Chicken acting odd staring

I have a olive egger that all the sudden wasn’t acting right. Would just stand there staring into space.Her comb was bend over which is normally straight. So, I picked her up and she threw up alittle. I inspected her and she didn’t have any feathers missing and she didn’t have any mites. So, I put her in the chicken hospital and started researching what maybe the issue. I found great information on here. I learned that if you pick the chicken up and smell her head and if it smells like sour kraut she probably has sour crop. I pick her up and she starts really throwing up. Black and greenish spew...after that episode she actually seemed to feel better. I smelled her head and sure enough it had a sour kraut smell. I have to say also that she has been laying odd looking eggs too.. kinda cracked looking and funny shaped or no shell eggs. I immediately gave her some apple cider vinegar and water. I gave her some yogurt mixed with fennel seeds which she loves apparently cause she’s been eating it very well. She hasn’t pooped really all day in the hospital. Within 1/2 hr. Ish after I gave her the apple cider water and yogurt with fennel mixed she let out a big smelly poop. I’ll keep you posted on how she does!

So sorry to here about your chicken. Sounds like she does have sour crop. I've never had to deal with it before but there are a LOT of threads about it on this site. Best of luck.

There may be a reproductive disorder from the unusual egg shells, but it does sound like she has sour crop. Sometimes crop problems may be a result of another issue, such as reproductive disorders. Giving an antifungal medicine such as Medistatin powder or miconazole (monistat cream orally) can treat sour crop. Here is a good article to read about sour crop:
