Chicken acting strange for a couple weeks Please Read Updates

Be sure to let us know what breeds you get! I can have 6 chickens but am down to four due to the passing of the one last year, and one ended up being a rooster. Ive been thinking about adding two more to my flock before summer but after all of these issues. :)
I will! I am thinking Buckeyes or Ayam Cemanis, probably next spring. :)

Chickens are so much fun to keep, it's hard not to add more to the flock!

I love the buckeyes!

My dad just mentioned today that about a week ago, my girl accidentally ran into a board when she was coming out of the coop after sleeping and water came out of her beak.:bow:rant That would've been nice to know sooner, but at least we were right about the sour crop and got it fixed now!:celebrate
My baby has been moved to her temporary home on the back porch! No squatting, fluffing, or laying down so far! She is drinking her Corid water and eating her yogurt with some cooked oats and a bit of chick starter! She will be staying outside for the rest of her quarantine, since the weather will be perfect. She will still go out into the coop with her buddies every night!
Here is a
Video of her <3

She looks really good! :) I am super glad she is feeling better. :hugs I think she is ready to sleep with her sisters now. Great job! Keep us posted on her condition! :)

Here is today's update on my baby!
SHe is doing FANTASTIC. scratching around, yelling at us when we go outside to give her treats LOL:yesss:. She took a dust bath last night. No more purple comb for over 24 hours. No squatting, fluffing, laying down. She eats her medicine in some chick crumbles and yogurt and gobbles her egg like a beast haha. We are grinding her normal food up a few pulses in the coffee grinder to break up the whole grains, I tossed about 2 tbsp of it in her pen with her and she loves it. Such a HUGE demeanor change even from yesterday to today. We are slowly introducing her food back in.

I am considering just sprouting their food from now on (not to where it is super tall and like grass, just like in a mason jar), I'd love to know your guys opinion on this. This is the brand of food we give them: https://www.scratchandpeck.com/shop/naturally-free-layer/

I'm nearly certain that when we stupidly put them out on grass without their food and grit was the start of this issue, but when in the first few days of her being sick I saw whole grains coming out undigested, I started to worry. But she also was pooping fibrous green (the grass). Now she is back to more normal poops, jsut runny, im assuming from the sour crop still in her system a bit. Maybe i an just a little too worried about all of this? We will definitely be changing how we put them outside on grass. I am also open to suggestions on how you guys feed your chickens grass!
My other cinnamon queen had a tiny bit of something that felt like grass in her crop this morning, so I massaged it a bit, gave them yogurt and they will not be going out on grass for a few days. I am monitoring her very closely. She had normal poops over night, too.

Getting ready to! I have equine safeguard which I wormed with last august. I plan I worming them all once I reintroduce the one back into the flock full time. thats should be in a few days
I am in no way an expert. This just sounds a lot like what happened to a few of my girls. Unfortunately I was unable to save them. I finally used Ivermectin drench and put 1 drop per pound on my remaining 3 chickens and they all finally improved. I also dusted my coop with somthing similar to Sevin dust for mites. I still have 2 of those girls and they even started laying a little. Anyway as I stated no expert but you seem very dedicated and caring as I am and I hope you can help your girls!

Thank you so much for the advice! Luckily, the one I thought was beginning an impaction yesterday was a fluke, her crop was empty this morning! everyone is nearly back to normal! sour crop is nearly cured in the other one too! I'm so happy! so the ivermectin drench, did you get from tractor supply?

I think I bought it from Amazon or Jeffers Pet Supply online.
