I have 2 sebright pullets, they were about 10 weeks old. I just noticed last night that one was acting weird. It didn’t run at all when I tried to pick it up, was pretty lethargic. It went to roost early and wasn’t interested in mealworm treats. I hadn’t noticed anything wrong up until this point. This morning and went to let them out and the sick one was dead. I have no idea what could’ve happened? I’m worried it may be something that’s going to infect all the others. I do have Corid on hand, should I give that to the flock just in case? If so, what is the proper dosage? Thanks

First off, sorry for your loss.

The problem here is quite a few things may have caused the chicken to pass abruptly, so while we may be able to take a guess on what might have happened, it won't be near as accurate as sending her body (if you still have it) to your state veterinary necropsy lab for an examination. They should be able to tell you what happened to her, and some states will offer it for free or for a minimal fee.

Here is some more info regarding that,

If you want to treat for Coccidiosis, that's fine, the dosage is in this thread.

thank you. I’ve never given Corid before.Would I just do the moderate outbreak dosage and follow up with the smaller amount? Or just give a preventative dosage?

I would start the Corid immediately too. It won't hurt.

Where did your two birds come from?
Do you have other chickens besides these two?
What exactly do you feed?
