chicken affection

I have four chickens the same age (4 1/2 months) that have been raised together and they go everywhere together. One is a bantam rooster, the rest are a mix of hens, one bantam, one silkie, and one astro lark. Now that they are almost fully mature I am enjoying the changes happening between the little rooster and bantam hen. Today, the rooster laid down as if going to dust, on his side. The bantam hen laid on her side next to him and the rooster laid his head on her breast, and she put her wing out to cover him. It was a beautiful sign of affection.

Sounds like a Kodak moment. I never have my phone with me to take a picture on those moments

My thoughts exactly! I ran back to get my camera and of course they had left by the time I returned.
