My chicken seems to be dying from a quick onset of paralysis. Over the course of the last three days I have noticed that she was running around less. Yesterday she was kind of just laying out in the sun but when i would pick her up she would get up on her feet and walk away. Today she wont really move at all when I pick her up she is very stiff but she will move her head. I have noticed that my other chickens have not really been laying eggs as frequently either. But no one else has symptoms like this.

** And today upon checking out her vent it seems like she has maggot like bugs feed near her anus

Did you get her from hatchery stock, as in, she would have been vaccinated for Mareks?

Is she eating, drinking, pooping?

The experts here will want to know what she is eating and pictures of poop.
I know that sounds odd. You can learn a lot by those two details however.

Shes only about 5 months old now.
Can you please post some photos?

It would be good if you will go get her and bring her in, if she has maggots around her vent those need to come off ASAP.
Flush the maggots off with generous amounts of water, clean up any poop that's in the feathers, etc. and take a really good look to see if she has a wound around her vent or what the maggots are attracted to.

Has she been laying eggs at all?

Report back to us once you have examined her closely.

The bit of info regarding the maggots was added after I responded. That would have changed my response considerably.
As mentioned above, a thorough wash and check over needs to happen.

5 months seems a bit young to lay, should've caught and clarified this earlier.
Whether laying or not, she could have suffered a prolapse that flies discovered. Having a terrible year of flies here myself. They can really take an animal down fast.
