This morning one of my chickens is acting weird. She's arching her neck back, walking backwards and has watery stool. No other issues noted. She is eating and drinking. These symptoms aren't constant. But every few minutes it happens.

Torticollis or wry neck can come in many forms, including the classic "star gazing" posture. Walking backwards or even turning the head upside down are common forms, too.

The treatment is vitamin E capsules, one per day directly into the beak until she returns to normal. Give it with egg for best absorption or a sliver off a selenium tablet.

The runny poop may be relevant or not. Let's see how it does after the vitamin E starts to take effect.

Thanks, she seems fine now, no further problems, except I think she's going broody. LOL
