I NEVER thought I would post this.
I was visiting my 5-6 week old chicks in their run. They love to jump on me and perch on my shoulders and run around on my back. I was wearing (fake) pearl earrings! One of my chicks, Domino, decided to wrench it from my ear, jump off my shoulder, and make a break for it. I chased after him and caught him as soon as he swallowed it, needle and all. I’m still in denial but I checked the exact area I caught him with the pearl and there’s NOTHING.
What do I DO?? He was acting completely fine after the incident. I felt around his crop but I couldn’t find it well. Felt a lump that rolled that could’ve been the earring?? How do I get an earring out of a chicken?? My concern is not for my earring, but for Domino’s insides. Will he be okay??
Ain’t no way man😭my chickens are insane
P.s. I attached a picture of my remaining earring.
*I’m really worried. I love Domino so much, he’s my little shoulder buddy. I just want him to be okay.

Genuinely curious, why must I not encourage that?
Beside the earring eating, they'll peck at anything that moves, your eye for example.
Also, they'll try to jump onto your shoulders when you're not looking, resulting in poop covered chicken toenails stabbing your neck, mouth, face or eyes. A really disgusting injury that will require robust antibiotics.
Also, you are not a chicken and letting them on you tells them that not only are you a chicken, but you're a low ranking, push over chicken.

^^ THIS. And you aren’t the first to have a chicken swallow an earring believe it or not. I don’t remember how the last incident I read about turned out but I seem to remember the chicken being ok lol

Ohhh yeah, my eyelids have already been pecked 6+ times. One chick likes to peck my ears and another stuck her whole beak up my nostril. Whenever I bend over they like to perch on my back. The poop is super gross. That’s the reason I take a shower right after visiting the chicks 😅 I never knew that’s what their continued behavior would lead to. A lot of times they jump on my knees to cuddle and get warmth. I definitely don’t want to seem like a pushover to my Roos, I have 5.
