Not long ago, all five of my chinese painted quails (four females and a male) escaped while they were being looked after by someone else. They left a lot of eggs behind, though, so I put about ten of them under my broody hen in case any of them would hatch (yes, I know that chickens can transmit fatal diseases to quails, but I wanted to try it anyway). For some reason, though, all but one of the eggs has disappeared, and my guess is that either my broody hen or one of my other three hens has eaten them. is that possible?
