Chicken Ate Vet Wrap

Okay… it’s probably too early to panic, and I’m trying as hard as I can not to.

I was taping up my Barred Rock’s injured foot, with strips of vet wrap that were probably about 4” long. They were thin enough that they could fit in between her toes, probably less than 1/2” thick.

She decided to help herself to a strip. I couldn’t get it away from her before she swallowed it. It was folded so I know it didn’t go down as one big string.

Can she pass this? How soon will I see signs of a blockage?

I’m so upset right now. I love my chickens. She’s part of my original flock, and the first one who decided she wanted to be friends.

It will likely pass through ok but we'll wait for someone more experienced than me to chime in.

Update: Lucille is doing just fine. I haven’t seen her pass it, but she’s eating, drinking, and pooping normally.
