I have a flock of chickens that I got last spring in one fenced in area and another group of chicks that I just got in May in an adjoining pen. Last week one of the new chicks some how got in the pen with the bigger chickens. The chick was attacked by the other group while we were at work and by the time we got home she was beat up pretty bad. All of the feathers are gone from the top of her head down to about the middle of her back. I sprayed her with Blu-kote right away. Now it looks like there is no skin in this area. She seems to be doing OK otherwise. My question is this, "will the skin and feathers grow back or is she destined to be a bald chick?"

No need to run out and buy a tiny chick toupe-the feathers will grow back, it will just take some time.
Watch the area to make sure no infection sets in. If you see her starting to get picked on, pull her out.
