One of them was killed unfortunately, but the injured one is going to be okay, I think. I am most worried about some bald spots she has, particularly on her head. We are going into the cold months now (already have freezing temps over night and it snowed last week). Our coop is not heated, and I don't have a way to heat it. She's a Barred Rock. Will the bald spots be at more risk for frost bite? is there anything I can do for her? Will she regrow those feathers, and how long does that take?

Thanks!

The feathers will most likely grow back in about 2 months or less. I had one who had a gaping hole in her back and was practically bald. She is healed and well feathered now. She's a Barred Rock.

Sorry you lost one- I lost 13 in 2 separate attacks by something as yet unknown. If schedule and weather EVER cooperate, I will get an electric fence up!

Thanks. You think she will be okay, frost wise? We can get down into the less than zeros in december and january around here, and we'll be gone for almost 4 weeks in January, I hate to leave her at risk when I won't be here to monitor her.
