Goldylocks was attacked by a dog, most of her back feathers were pulled out and has a puncture wound the size of a nickel in the middle of her back, she eats, drinks, and takes it easy, shes limping, but its not too bad. The wound is not in a spot where she can pick at it herself.

The problem is, the feed stores dont have anything for her for infections, and the vet doesnt do poultry. What can I give her for infections/pain..... that I can find in my medicine cabinet or pantry...or local drugstore?

Thanks for any advice.

Vets are usually pretty trigger happy with the Baytril so even a non-poultry vet might write you a script for something as obvious as a bite wound.

You can get cipro OTC online. It's a lot cheaper and essentially the same as Baytril. Amoxicillin is also OTC for birds and fish so a pet store might have it. The other three are better for cat/dog bites though.
