Hi I'm new here and need help
My chicken was attacked by my dog 4 days ago. She doesnt have any open wounds, but won't stand up and has problems wit her right foot. It doesn't seem to be broken.
She wont eat or drink. I've been giving her an eyedropper full if water about every 2 hrs. I tried feeding her with a spoon. I softened up her laying feed.
Not sure what else to do.

Hi, welcome to BYC! We're glad to have you here! :welcome

First thing's first. You need to separate her from the rest of the flock if you haven't already. Get her in a dog crate of some sort.

Have you checked the bottom of her foot? Whenever my hens have trouble standing, the culprit is always wounds on the bottom of the foot.

Finally, pictures will definitely help.

Welcome!
I'm so sorry for your bird, and also recommend checking her over again for obvious wounds. Not eating or drinking is a very bad sign, likely indicating internal injuries if there's nothing obvious to be seen.
Try yummy treats, applesauce, anything to get fluids and calories into her.
Add your approximate location so we can help better otherwise.
If it's still warm and there are flies where you live, have her inside away from them, look at her vent area, and have her cleaned up there.
Can she visit an avian veterinarian? Xrays may help too.
Good luck to her,
Mary

Agree with the above! We need pictures! I had one get caught by the dog, with obvious wounds to her head, back, and leg and she recovered like nobody's business. Another had no signs of injury and died in my hands within minutes. Crazy. Tempt her with anything, yogurt, applesauce, mealworms, whatever will get her attention. I kept mine in a small pen where she was only inches from the food & water at all times until she rebounded. Make it as easy for her as possible if she's got a leg/foot injury. I've got my fingers crossed for y'all!

I would try to feed her anything that she will eat even if it's not her food. Try scrambled eggs those always seem to be a huge hit with most injured chickens. Hopefully you have already separated her, by the sounds of it you already have. Just make sure that she is comfy and wait it out. She could have a sprain or something else going on that you can't physically see. If she continues to not get better, you can get her into a vet for their opinion on what to do.

Good luck with everything! Speedy recovery wishes to your chicken...

Dogs will often pick up their prey and shake it around a lot. This can cause a lot of internal injury without looking so bad on the outside. Best of luck for her recovery.

:welcome :frow I agree with the other posts. I would also try getting something down her. Have you tried some of her favorites? Please post and let us know. Good luck...

I had a young male bird in a bachelor coop and pen. The other males beat him up to the point he couldn't walk. When I took him out he was totally freaked out. I put him in with my special hen. It took awhile but eventually he warmed up to Gladys and would try to follow her around. He eventually began to walk a bit but would fall over. He was eventually able to walk again. At first when he was walking pretty good he would try to run to keep up with Gladys and would fall over but kept trying. He eventually got better. Again good luck...
