My chicken was attacked by a raccoon last night. She is ok, in quarantine, but we have not cleaned the wound on her face. It's a bit bloody, but we were told to leave her alone and let it heal. I'm wondering if I should at least wash it with soap and water. It's not a gaping hole, but she's cut and slowly bleeding from it. What do I do? Thanks

I would at least dabb it with a q-tip soaked in peroxide at least to get the gunk clean (dirt, dried blood, and what little bacteria there is) and maybe dab a smidge of neosporin on it after it dries from the cleaning with peroxide. Just to prevent infection, and thats it, thats all i would do for now. Let it heal as you were told.

Just a little preventative with the peroxide and neosporin. Better safe than sorry i say.
