Chicken Attacked?

@WiddleChix
I did take a picture of the print earlier today, I'll add that in here. I did check the place where I thought I heard her, but it's hard because we have a lot of thick brush, I can crawl into them but it's a lot easier for my dog to run around in them. I still have faith though, and this is a mystery to solve haha

Right as I saw the print, my cat decided to step right next to it but I was able to compare it to his. It's definitely canine, and cats don't walk with their claws

Yeah that's definitely a canine paw print. It looks like the size of medium/large dog by the look of it but there's nothing to compare it to in the pic. It really is a mystery I wonder when you're gonna find the next clue lol. I'm thinking it was a coyote.

@WiddleChix
Hopefully the next clue isn't a dead chicken! I'll be setting two traps tonight, above ground level so no skunks are getting in it

@WiddleChix
If the print is still there tomorrow, I'll take a picture of it side by side to a coin. And tonight, Hickory jumped on the main big roost with no help! He certainly is doing better

That's so good to hear! Let me know how you guys are doing today. That'd be great to see a size comparison of the paw print. Any more clues?

@WiddleChix
I caught a skunk

But I was able to open the cage with the trash bag technique without it spraying. The other cage was empty. The chickens just woke up, I'll see how they're doing after school. It was very foggy last night so the print is a little hard to see but it's still here. I also made an outline on it in the second pic so you can kinda see it better

Wow I'm glad you didn't get sprayed by the skunk! I hope you catch the fox/coyote so you don't have to worry about the chickens getting hurt. That's a nice sized paw print, i guess we'll have to wait and see who the culprit is as soon as it gets caught, pretty sure it wasn't the skunk lol!
