Just went out to feed the chickens and saw something black laying out in their yard. With the high winds we have had, st first, thought it was a piece of the black plastic from the coop to keep the wind off them.
It was one of my Australorps. Think it was a raccoon. Her neck and head were stripped of feathers but still attached to her body. Its my fault. I didnt go lock them up last night because I got home late. That wont happen again. I will either lock them up before I leave, or when I get back. I havent had a predator loss in years. This was a wake up call. Time to bait the trap.
