Chicken attacking feet

I'm just glad she doesn't attack my feet without shoes on! She's a bold little thing. She also considers my broom her enemy and attempts to engage it in a fight to the death whenever I move it. I'm trying not to encourage her by standing still and not reacting when she goes for my shoes, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the behaviour long term.

Aww so cute. My hens and chicks are all afraid of brooms or rugs or anything soaring above them. (Brooms and sweeping motions most). So they have trained me to shake my rugs out front :lau. I dont think u can do much about the shoes other than not wear them, thats what i try to do.

Take your shoes off and put them in front of her. She may attack them then realize that they are not dangerous and stop attacking them. Your hen also might not like the color pink. My rooster doesn't like blue, this year, though, he doesn't like pink, or maybe he doesn't like my fuzzy mittens. Is your shoes fuzzy? I do know chickens don't like new things. You said you walk around barefoot so your hen is used to that. I personally think it is a very good idea to wear shoes on on a farm. Good luck with your hen getting used to your shoes!:)

Excellent ideas!

Use a spray bottle stop their bad behavior put it on stream it will not hurt of drown them what you allow now will continue and get worse train it

Could be color. They definitely peck red, and pink isn't far off..

Honestly though it could be anything. I'd tell her no very firmly and tap her on the rump with your fingers. If she continues, pick her up and put her in time out for a minute or 2 somewhere really boring (like an empty cardboard box) and then let her back out until she is naughty again.

Don't make excuses for her (his?) obnoxious behavior! Correct it! Whatever you are or aren't wearing is not relevant to having a polite response. You could carry a spray bottle, or a switch, or something, to extend your reach, and have something mildly unpleasant happen every time she's having a bad thought. Don't wait for the full attack, nail that 'look' that should be obvious if you pay attention. She should move out of your way, unless you invite her into your space.
