Chicken attacks Pit Bull "Caution-Pics"

I don't trust my Scotties around my chickens, not for a second. All four of them are the Death Squad to all critters on our property, from possums to chipmunks to voles. When I let them out, they run to the coop and run around it in circles, standing up on their hind legs like prairie dogs to get a look at the living wings and drumsticks on the inside.

md, that was one pitiful Doberman. We raised Dobes for show back when I was a kid. My dad bought a 4 yr old blue Dobe named Gretchen who had a wonderful pedigree to get pups from. I don't know what they did to her, but she had had pups every time she came into season, had almost no hair on her back(blue Dobes have sensitive skin that has to be dealt with properly) and when you called her, she would crawl on her belly to you. That's sad for a dignified dog like a Doberman. She was a wonderful dog who was highly protective of us kids.

Poor Poochie, well I at least know now that maybe my chickens will have a fighting chance if my dogs decide to attack.

I am sorry for doggie though, and I have to agree... my neighbor raises pits and breeds them, I see no pit in this dog... I do see the blue healer though (another neighbor has them). Intersting.

I was trying to avoid the dog-chicken in fear of this becoming a debate, not
that I don't like debates. This thread didn't turn out that way at all.

You folks posted some great dog stuff. I love it.

Rooster-Red that is an amazing picture. I mean really amazing. Wow.
You can tell those two animals are part of the same pack/flock (Flack?)
It's both heartwarming and sad(RIP thing

Thanks Everyone.

Oh, Jake is doing much better today and does not have any long term
damage. In fact he went into the coop this morning. The chickens were
MAD!!!

The dog looks like a Hienz dog to me. I am an American Bulldog breeder, have 6 of them. I don't let my birds and dogs out together. I have pryed my BC Roo out of my 2 males mouths on more than one occasion before I built the dog proof coop. Now they just run around and bark / cluck at each other.

Hi PurpleChicken - for what it's worth - I for one, saw the humor in your original post. In fact I was laughing so loud, I was crying, my husband had to come see what was the matter. I showed him the post - he just shook his head, laughed and said "you people are crazy" (meaning me and all us chicken lovers - I just bought 4 more baby buff orps).

Anyway, I know what you mean about this turning into a debate over what breed of chicken it was and what breed of dog - really didn't matter - thought it was hilarious.

Now that she has a record - I added a little something extra:
