Auction Day!

Last night I took Silas and Jacob off their roosts, placed them in their laundry baskets. Jacob, who is 9 months, did a bit of thrashing around. Silas made plaintive noises, calling for his hens I think. I felt a little sad.

Loaded up and headed to the auction by 7:30.

It took THREE hours, but they finally got to my boys!

Silas went for $10, Jacob for $3. On impulse I brought two dozen Sussex eggs, they sold as hatching eggs for $10 a dozen!

Most of the roosters were selling cheap, $2 or $3, so I'm satisfied. Jacob's buyer got a steal, he was a lot closer to Standard than Silas.
