but ya gotta draw the line somewhere.

I'm glad you and others had fun with this post. I was laughing pretty hard
as I typed it. The story is true. The bird really poked the dog HARD.
OK, so the patch is fake.

I admit it. He brushed it off with his paw every
time I tried to get the pic.

The breed debate thing is ok. I learned something. This kind of post is a discussion
among friends so a little straying is alright with me.

Good Luck with those new orps. My buff is a fluffy little lover.

Not sure what it's worth since I guess you've figured out what your chicken is, but for comparison here are both my campine and wyandotte (near the same age in the pictures taken).

I was laughing reading your post. Too funny!!! My ferocious Pit mix,(boxer,pit bull, teeny bit of greyhound) had a similiar experience when he got pecked on the nose when the chicks were 3 weeks old. Ran away yiping, was rather funny. I can see the Pit in your dog's picture a bit in the head, so I would think he is part. My dog, has a bit more pit in the head than yours.

I am glad this isnt a big dog-chicken debate. It always doesnt work out for the good but in my case my dog is great with the chickens and is protective of the chicks. It can be done to have a dog compatible with chickens not always, but it can be possible.
