chicken bad neck injury

One of my chickens was attacked today we think by a hawk or some other bird. I’ve read on other forums that the most important thing to do is clean it right away and cover it from flies. Pretty shaken up about it and not really sure if we’re just prolonging the inevitable or actually helping her.

You can flush the wounds with betadine, pat dry with gauze, then apply neosporin. Continue treatment as necessary and make sure she eats and drinks.
Your other option is to cull the chicken. It's your decision.
