I think one of my juvenile Wyandottes has gone blind. She walks into walls, can't find food or water easily and her pupils are enormous.
She has always walked around with another chicken, almost tailgating her, but this one has found a new friend and the one gone blind is quite helpless without her. Point being I think her vision has been bad for awhile and without her guardian, she's doing poorly.
Is blindness common in Wyandottes? If she is a hen and we decide not to cull her, she'll probably have to live caged as she's now terrified of the other chickens.
If we do kill her, is there a reason we shouldn't eat her (other than I'm getting attached)?
Thanks - I'm new to the chicken world and appreciate all suggestions and comments
