chicken behavior, hen mounting hen

Hi all. a few weeks ago I purchased an Australian tailed Araucana "pullet/POL". everything about her suggests she's in fact a hen except she has been mounting my silkie! Could this be like with other animals where they do this to show dominance?
 
I have a 3 yr old hen that will mount other hens in the absence of a male bird and is top of the pecking order but I agree it is unusual for a pullet to have the confidence to do this especially when she has just been newly introduced to the flock. It might be a good idea to post photos of her.
 
here are some pics. if it is indeed a hen it should be getting close to laying age. 3rd and 4th pics include some of my other younger araucana and you can see the cockerels are very obvious
