If you want sweet, can't beet Easter Eggers. Both of mine are great. One especially will sunbathe on my lap. They come into lay later than other chickens though. Mine are laying most days - one is generally laying Lg and EL eggs and the other is still laying medium eggs, even after 2 months.
We have a Red Star - she's not especially friendly but she's not scared or flighty either. That hen lays every day, and her smallest eggs are 2 7/8 oz. Many of her eggs won't even fit in a jumbo carton.
Our Wyandotte is sweet too, but her eggs also tend to be on the small side.
