I have fours chicken. only one is laying. What causing this?

How old are they? What do they eat? Are they all girls? Do they free range? Where are you located? Are they molting?

So any things can be your answer.....a little more info is needed.

Were they all previously laying?
How old are they?
Do they free range or are they in an enclosed coop/run?

I have been keeping chickens for a couple of years, New question, I just introduced a cockerel to my flock, Will the cockerel ever get over being so skiddish and spastic every time I go to the coop.? He seems terrified but I haven’t seen any pecking or bullying, he is 16 weeks old?

Are you saying that he is scared of you? If so, this will most likely change as he matures. It’s not guaranteed with every rooster, but the chances are at 16 weeks old your rooster is approaching the horrible hormonal stage where he’ll become very aggressive. As I said this isn’t the same with every rooster but there’s a high chance.

Thank you, He is scared of me as well as the hens, i’ve had him here about a month, at first they would chase and bully and peck him, now they are ignoring him just not acknowledging him at all. He stays on the roost or he will fly to the brooder pen. He does not go on the ground.

He should settle down, at least to some degree, as he gets older.
Teenage chickens are often the most skittish. Take your time with him, see if you can get him to eat some treats from near you.

Hi, how is your rooster settling in now? I have same problem, introduced a new rooster to the flock and he doesnt stand up for himself with the hens and spends all day on the perch hiding from them. I have 1 other rooster, a real gentle giant who doesnt bother him at all and more than enough hens for them both.
