We have mixed breeds of chickens. Leghorns, Rhode Island Reds, silkies, etc. I inherited them.
There is one leghorn that spends most of her time in the nest box. I was thinking she was broody. However, whenever she gets out of the box to eat or drink almost the entire flock of chickens attacks her. Does that happen because she is broody? What do you do with something like that?
I'm not going to keep her separated in a cage having to give her separate food and water for the rest of her life. I would for a few days if it was broodiness and if I got her over that the other chickens would leave her alone.
Short of having her for dinner, are there any other options?
