Chicken Blinders Safe?

I am a little late to the show looking at the date of these posts so hoping several years now you all have had more experience with the blinders. I have once again another pecking problem. Two girls isolated as they heal and grow feathers back. I tried the blinders once before but took them off when it seemed the girls were not eating. I have two of these in the coop, one in each section. I think the blinders hindered them from accessing the food form this type of feeder. So my questions are : 1) have the blinders been successful after all these years? 2) if you use them what kind of feeder(s) do you use with them?

My coop is 6 feet wide and 19 1/2 feet long for 7 hens in case anyone asks. ;-) Looking forward to your input and recommendations!! Lynn
