Chicken block swap due June 15th

Yes I'm in! Think we will have to stick to the simpler blocks , carpenters wheel will be too big and the wagon wheel would be a big challenge . It will work so long as the more experienced take the harder ones.

I think that would be a good idea, there are lots of blocks to choose from here is just one book on the subject
http://www.amazon.com/Underground-R...1419&sr=8-1&keywords=underground+quilt+blocks, I think I will order this next week and then I can share the patterns with you and then you can decide which block to choose from, I think the colors should be muted greys, blues, reds, burnt orange, as back then they didn't really have brights, what do you think?

I was thinking that too, there are plenty of skill levels w/ the blocks so the beginners could pick the easier ones and those up for the challenge could pick the more challenging.

I love the history of this idea personally.

If we do end up doing this idea I found an "easier" way to do the carpenters wheel, I'll check it out to see if it is doable at my skillset. (no promises though)

I'm good w/ whatever color scheme, the muted earth tones would certainly be more appropriate to the original ones.

I looked at your easy carpenters wheel and it comes up to a 24" block! If you scale it down the pieces are going to be tiny !
Why not just make one for yourself?

A lot will depend on how it goes when I try the first one. If it is to hard or time consuming I won't start if I can't finish.
