Floss (sorry for off topic guys

)

No floss is after you go to the bathroom and you floss the toilet.

Hmmm, wipe or floss?!?!

Wow, imagine the rope burn with thin "floss" type toilet paper.

Yeah, I've been having to do that with 3 of my 11. This time after I had 'em all cleaned up, I put Vaseline all over their butts with a q-tip. Hopefully that'll keep it from sticking! I also found out that a little warm water with a good squirt of Ivory hand soap and a washrag works REALLY well in cleaning those little butts. I was worried about how I was going to manage it after reading all the stories of difficulties getting the paste off, but it just melts it right off.

Hope your wife doesn't have to keep doing that--and next time, lend a hand, lol! *wink*

Yeah, I was thinking the "Hokey Pokey"...You know, "ya put your left foot in, ya put your left foot out, ya put your...da,da,da...(lol)...
Too funny!

And by the way, what is flossing a toilet? I thought that's what you do to your teeth! How do you floss a toilet? Is this something new?
(lol)...I'm so outta the groove! (*sigh*)...

Good luck with the endeavor. I'm on the precipice here. I so want to have several Buff Orpingtons and keep nice big, docile girls who will cope with the weather and my pets, eradicate snail and slug population an hour before sundown before retiring for the night. Suggestions for a supplier?

I'm in the usual urban area where roosters are frowned upon although I do hear them crow regularly in other neighborhoods, and I need

to keep hens to 5-6. Just bought a small henspa coop and waiting for it to arrive!

:weee:weeeYippee! And then I can populate it with gorgeous Buffs.

Anybody able to help me? I'm about an hour north of Seattle. Many thanks in advance for tips and suggestions. Perhaps there are alternative but more available breeds that I could consider as well? Barred Rock?

I'm new to this game as well. I think this time of year it may be hard to get chicks at the feed stores. You may need to buy them online. At least you will have a lot of choices. The feed stores around me only had a few breeds to choose from.

Aww, very cute pictures! Your dog looks so sweet. When I showed my German Shepherd one of the new babies, she instantly sat down and held up her paw for "shake hands"--exactly what she does when I take a doggy treat out of the bag. "No, Simi, this is not a yummy chew treat for you, silly dog! I'm showing you this so you'll know it's MINE!" LOL!

The cat really, really wants a chick, too. He's always been a hunter, still catches mice and lizards and little snakes, so I'm keeping a close eye on him. This is why I lined the dog crate I converted to a brooder with 1/4" hardware cloth--no way his paw's getting through there!

Today we introduced our dogs to our 6 week old chicks. Needless to say I became very nervous when our black lab mutt Peete started licking his chops! We locked the chicks up back in the coop, and Freddie the Beagle sniffed around the outside perimeter of the coop a couple of times. I think I'm going to have to be very careful now!

the dog is in the photo is Moose he is really easy going and wouldn't hurt a fly. What you don't see in the picture is his sister daisy. She is the great white shark of dogs. She would eat a horse if she could. We introduced her to the chicks. You could feel the raw energy radiating off her. She looks at the chicks the way she looks at cats, squirrels, hot dogs!
