Chicken Breed Focus - Australorp

I have a BA about 4 weeks old. It’s my only BA so I can’t compare to my other breeds but it has a sizeable comb and wattles already. Is there any chance this could still be a hen or is it pretty much guaranteed to be a roo?

Thank you both! I think so, too. I can't have roosters but my friend has some hens that are looking for a man in their life so if it's really a male, he has a nice home waiting for him.

I have one BA chick I got along with a Wyandotte and EE. The BA is growing much faster than her counterparts she is the most adventurous first to learn to jump on the huddle hut and play in the sand box. She is the first to come over when I tap the sides. I can’t wait to see her grow and eat her yummy yummy eggs I’m guessing she may be my first layer of the bunch since they will come to laying age mid winter.

On the top right, of a thread page, it will say "watch". Click it, and you should get notifications when someone posts on the thread. In addition, across the top, where it says Forums, just below that, it will say Watched, and there is an arrow next to it. Click there, and all the threads you are watching, will be listed. When you see one in bold lettering, it means there are new posts on that thread, that you haven't read.

I was able to get some pics. I hope these are both pullets. They are 10 weeks actually as I miscalculated. First and second photo are the same bird, 3rd and 4th photos are the 2nd bird. Thoughts?

I’m still learning with these young chickens but they both look like pullets to me. I got my BAs at 11 months old so I didn’t get to see them through the stages of development. Hopefully a more experienced chicken sexer will chime in.

Are you referring to my photos? I know they were ordered from a hatchery. Maybe just hatchery quality? I wondered though since I've read that black australorps are supposed to have dark brown eyes.
