Uh Oh! Now that they know where you live, they'll be visiting often. LOL

We had a problem with the chickens hanging out & pooping by our back door. It was getting impossible to walk to the car w/o stepping in something. ....Not to mention that feeling of always "being watched."

We used a motion activated "scarecrow" sprinkler to keep the flock behind the garage. Then, one smart hen figured out the pattern & taught the others. It was also amusing when the people would forget about it & ended up getting wet.

Next we used a preschooler with a super-soaker. This was both effective & entertaining, but the birds soon learned the school schedule. It also didn't work in the winter because I was not about to let them get wet in cold weather.

The final solution was a cheap fence. Not as pretty, but it works

.....well it works for all but my Sebright.

She lives by her own rules!

Heehee that's funny Faraday! I might have to look into some soakers!

Our dogs have a doggie door into the house from on the screened-in back porch. When I started out the door, the birds were actually pecking at the internal doggie door, but I don't think they are big enough to get it opened. Its heavy rubbery plastic and hangs downward. I wouldn't mind them visiting the porch if they didn't poop when they came in! Lol

This is a current pic of Trouble. She's actually quite pretty, but something happens whenever I take her pic. It always comes out pathetic-looking. Poor bird. She's in need of some glamour shots.

Posted this on another sebright thread which I know several of us are on both, but I'd like as many opinions as possible.

Question - I am getting rid of one of my 3 male GSs, but I can't decide which one. Temperaments are all about the same, one is maybe a little friendlier to me but seems like the instigator in picking fights with the others. But nothing to really base on by behavior.

My question is just going on looks, should I choose the largest or the smallest two to keep? Pick the best combs? Pick the best looking tail and hackles feathers?
And on hackle feathers, I have a couple females that are a bit darker around the neck and head, and a couple that are lighter. They are only about 5 months old, so I can't really tell how that will factor in later.

Any tips or comments appreciated!
