Hi all,
I'm new to silkies, got my first one 6 weeks ago. She hasn't started laying yet, unsure on exact age. My oldest girls are 5 and I think they're all fairly settled and accepting of each other now. She's my only silkie in my mini flock of 4, all free range all day every day.

She is the sweetest girl in the world! She's so quiet and timid- she's defo at the bottom of the flock. I have a couple of questions if anyone has any info :)
So, is this normal silkie way; she seems...younger in a way to the others. I describe her as needy, she needs something to snuggle under to sleep.
Also, do any of you ever trim/tidy up their fluff? She really can't see well, she can eat and drink and there's plenty to have but watching her eat is a little upsetting, she'll peck and peck and completely miss.

She's completely snuggled her way into my heart and I want to do what's best for her. She walks into my house every evening, around 19:00 to find me. Then she'll spend the evening on the sofa asleep. I feel so guilty putting her out in the coop with the others. Thing is, I don't want her to be ostracized any more from the others by separating her all night, but she does spend all day outside with them. This morning she wouldn't come out of her hiding spot (she's got my daughter's old jumper to sleep under) and I feel like perhaps something may have happened before I let them out. She was extra timid today. Would letting her sleep in my kitchen be such a bad thing? Would I be causing her more issues in the group? Or would it give her the safety and time out she maybe needs? There's no arguing between them anymore but she is very nervous of being too close to my eldest booted, they keep their distance from each other. As such, she's often wandering around the garden alone.

I don't want to do the wrong thing, I want her to be happy. Any advice/ideas gratefully received!
