Chicken Breed Focus - Swedish Flower Hen

I'm thinking about adding some SFH to my small pastured flock. What are the pros/cons you've experienced? Would you recommend SFH or 55 Flowered Hens? Why? Thanks so much for your thoughts, advice, and comments.

Too bad nobody answered this. Those on this thread who have had theirs for a couple of years now should be able to say what they've seen with them. Would be interesting.

I love my Swedish Flowers. Friendly curious birds. I don’t free range but know someone who does and their flowers do very well. I’ve never had the 55 flowers but would consider them due to sexability.

Hi SFH lovers! I think I lucked out with a Swedish Flower in my Rare Breed Assortment from Meyer Hatchery. What do you guys think? She’s 6 weeks old today and so beautiful. And I’m really hopeful she’s a she!

beautiful indeed! as for gender, keep an eye on the comb and wattles; my SFH cock chicks' turned red about 6 wks while the pullets still aren't in their teens.

I just posted one actually just above! That’s Peep! She’s the darker of the two babies.

These are my last two photos of the lighter one, MT before she passed away. She was very pretty and I can’t wait to see how Peep with develop as she grows up!

Anyway so pleased Peep made it. I have one about the two weeks older and two about two weeks younger than yours, so they are all at very similar stages of development. This one's the tamest - the older one - she will walk onto me

She’s so pretty! My babies all got Coccidiosis but they all made it except for her since she only showed symptoms on her last day. They’re happy and healthy now and I know to keep Corid on me 24/7.
You’re so lucky she likes you that much! Peep is a freak and really does not like people unless she’s getting food
